In microelectronics industries such as electronic semiconductor devices, electronic computers, electronic communication equipment, and integrated circuits, anti-static mats or conductive floor mats are required in production workshops and advanced laboratories to reduce or eliminate electrostatic hazards. Once the anti-static mat is laid and grounded, the work surface will discharge static electricity from the human body, ensuring that ESD tweezers, tools, instruments, etc., in contact with the work surface reach a relatively uniform potential. This prevents interference from the wide-bandgap effect of electrostatic discharge phenomena such as triboelectric charging on static-sensitive devices (SSDs), thus achieving electrostatic protection.

These mats are also widely used in operating rooms, the petroleum industry, and explosion-proof warehouses. In addition, anti-static rubber floor mats also include special types, such as explosion-proof mats with a thickness of 2-5mm, suitable for flammable and explosive locations such as ammunition depots. Other forms include anti-static mats for workbenches and spherical anti-static and anti-fatigue mats suitable for factories and laboratories.
