The creation of a stable insulating rubber mat relies heavily on a rigorous manufacturing process. While specific formulations and processes fall under the category of production technology, they generally involve the following main stages:
Raw Material Selection and Formulation Design: This is the foundation for determining product performance. Natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber are typically selected as the main materials, combined with various functional additives such as reinforcing agents, vulcanizing agents, antioxidants, and colorants. Through scientific calculations and repeated experiments, a compound formulation that meets specific electrical and physical performance requirements is formed.
Mixing and Plasticizing: The raw rubber and various compounding agents are mixed in a mixer or open mill. Through mechanical shearing and thermal action, the components are uniformly dispersed to form a homogeneous compound.
Molding Process: The most common molding methods are compression molding and continuous vulcanization (such as drum vulcanization). Compression molding involves placing a certain amount of rubber compound into a mold of a predetermined shape and thickness, and vulcanizing and setting it under high temperature and pressure. Continuous vulcanization can produce long rolls and is more efficient.
Vulcanization Process: Vulcanization is a crucial step in rubber processing. Through the action of heat and pressure (and sometimes radiation), a cross-linking reaction occurs between the rubber molecular chains, transforming the plastic linear structure into a robust network structure. This process professionally endows the rubber mats with excellent elasticity, strength, and stable insulation properties.
Subsequent Processing and Testing: After vulcanization, the mats undergo trimming, cooling, and inspection. Each batch of products undergoes rigorous factory testing, including visual inspection, dimensional measurement, and critical electrical performance testing, ensuring full compliance with relevant national or industry standards before being released to the market.
